Check out today’s fusion wedding that’s feathered with fabulous DIY details and EllyB Event designs. Kyle Hale Photography captures this cheerful yet elegant styled Chinese Irish American fusion wedding, whose romantic meet cute is nothing short of a cinematic rom-com ready to hit theaters. Let’s check out the staring pair!
Heroine/ Hero: Chinese American Bride Lisa and her Irish American Beau – Eric
Photographer: Kyle Hale Photography
Having worked at the same company for the past 3 years, Lisa and Eric were familiar with one another’s scheduled work attendance. However, there was a specific week the polite nods of hello morphed into adoring stolen glances, and the obligated chit chat became adventurous conversation. Lisa tells us that she “met” her best friend and love of her life on her typical route to work. That’s when fate revealed itself. Two days in a row running into one another, led to weekend plans and ultimately to wedding plans. It was so fitting that the day of the Irish was being celebrated that weekend, but St. Patrick had much more in mind then just good happy hour prices. Lisa and Eric instantly hit it off and followed up the next weekend with a date that kept them together for the entire day! Spending a whole day with someone new may seem risky but I guess not when it’s meant to be…or when you have the luck of the Irish!
Working Wedding
GARDEN GODDESS
Having created the programs, menus, and etc…during wine nights with the girls, this wedding goddess has the DIY endurance but still understands the importance of a good wedding planner! Eliana of EllyB Events not only kept the wedding flowing and on schedule but coordinated amazingly creative ways to fuse culture into typical wedding details.
Lisa explains that some traditions may be over the top but if you want to have pieces of it in your wedding, you can! You don’t have to include a reference to every single cultural reference but a small detail such as a favor, the cake, or even the design of the programs and invitations can include bits of your heritage without it being overpowering. Have fun with it and be creative!
FORTUNE, FAVORS & LUCK
We wanted it to be elegant, yet one hell of a party! This goal led us to include fun details… I also wanted to include some of my cultural heritage but with a dose of our humor and that resulted in our personalized fortune cookies and Asian-inspired teal fans! It all came together in the end and was a perfect reflection of us.
CONGRATS Lisa & Eric! We wish you two the very best! And a big shout out and thank you to Kyle Hale Photography for these wonderful images!

Thank you so much for the feature! They were one of the most amazing couples to work with!
Love this wedding, amazing work Eliana! :)
With fortune cookies and fans, I’m not really seeing the Irish part of this Chinese Irish Fusion wedding. Seems like the this is all about the bride, which is probably very indicative of their relationship.
Also, how does a wedding on top of a building get the section title of Garden Goddess?
