Parisian Souk Inspiration Board Photo Shoot Week

Happy Monday Everyone! Today we’d like to re-share the dream palette that has been the backbone of inspiration for our Wedding Nouveau Magazine Spring 2012 style shoot! Tomorrow’s the big day, so be sure to check in for live updates of behind the scenes  Parisian Souk footage!

There is certainly no shortage of inspiration and “color” when it comes to “multi-cultural” weddings. In fact, both terms have almost become interchangeable. It’s as though there’s an unsaid expectation or rule that the introduction of cultural elements and details into an event, must equate to a pantheon of color. As much as I embrace and celebrate this concept, I understand that not all brides feel inclined towards unleashing the rainbow, regardless of whether they’re planning an inter-cultural wedding or not. I wonder about the classic “Tiffany’s” out there, who are just as bold in detail, and a little more subtle in color composition. Then, as though by divine response, I saw Chanel’s 2012 Paris-Bombay Collection. Seriously, I almost had a HAUTE attack: High fashion, impeccable detail, grandeur all around…AND muted colors. Thus a wedding dream palette was inspired:

Inspiration: Chanel 2012 Paris – Bombay Collection

For the record, the term “souk” usually refers to traditional marketplaces in Northern Africa and Mediterranean/Middle eastern cultures like Morocco, or the UAE, etc. However, I’m drawn to what it represents: the convergence of artisans, crafts, worldly designs…and if I have anything to do with it: Fashion. So whether you’d want a more sub-saharran flare, a Latin American sizzle or a rustic Mongolian mood…there’s tons you can do, while staying true to your inner fashionista.
