Are you sitting down for this? Because, believe me when I say: you’re in for a visually decadent treat. Today’s wedding tale fuses haute design by celebrity planner and TV personality – David Tutera; the glow of a Miss USA Pageant candidate, the innovative style of one of my favorite stationery designers – Ola Muhammed of IJORERE The Invitation, and the romance of Indian weddings. Simply put: I’m totally enchanted by today’s wedding and you will be enchanted too.
Setting: New York, NY
Heroine/ Hero: Floridian Native – Carrie and her Indian American Beau – Ajay

In case you missed our top ten multi-cultural wedding trends review, mix ‘n match bridesmaids are all the rage for fusion weddings. Then, sprinkle a layer of silk-inspired confetti in there, and you’ve got yourself a mural of inspiration. Carrie’s bridal party looks skittle-perfect in their sarees for the first of three distinct worlds, conveniently staged on different levels of the Skylight in NYC.
The Indian Ceremony – First Floor
WN was one of the early adopters of IJORERE doctrine a few years ago, featuring her exotic invitations on our blog. So it’s no surprise that when she was tapped as the lead designer for invitations, paperie and all stationery for this glam wedding, she would bring nothing less than her A-game…and “Bring it,” she did.
“Carrie’s one of a kind invitations were created as enlongated horizontal cards with four layers,” Ola explained on her blog, “mindfully revealing each one of Carrie’s 4 main colors. Akiyo designed the exotic henna motif which was embossed and flowed in continuation from one card to the next. This meticulous invitation required much detailed attention, every move had to be precise and each invitation was hand sewn into perfect place. Engraved cherry wooden boxes held each custom wedding invitation and guests were in absolute awe.”
The Christian Ceremony – Second Floor
The Rooftop Reception – Third Floor
Are you ready for this? The rooftop deck: Pure magic. I’m referring to the personalized translucent menus, hand picked onyx pebble stones, crystal candelabras, seating arrangement, majestic focal centerpiece and get this- because it was an outdoor dinner, black pashminas were given as favors to all the ladies to keep them cozy and still classy? STOP IT! I can’t take it!
Carrie and Ajay’s wedding fuses parisian style with Indian romance and with a dream team like the one they put together for their big day, it’s no wonder this multi-cultural wedding was fabulous. And now as a parting gift, you can watch their story, filmed and edited by Ray Roman Films.
