Earlier this week, I tweeted about an exciting new partnership that WN has with mywedding.com. We’ve launched a free wedsite partnership for nouveau readers. Be sure to check it out. In the meantime, today’s real wedding is a follow up to our ongoing guest blog series, with part 1 over at mywedding’s blog: delightfully engaged. It features country club romance, Sean John tailoring and insights from a budget savvy bride.
Setting: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Heroine/ Hero: Mexican American bride – Valerie and her African American beau – Kenneth
Signature Colors: Orchid, Aubergine and Gray
Photographer: Carolyn Scott
How would you say your style, heritage and culture were reflected in the wedding?
Kenneth and I wanted a sleek and simple wedding. As far as style, we wanted classy and simple. We wanted to provide a relaxed, fun filled atmosphere. We found a way to integrate traditional aspects of weddings while tailoring it to fit our personalities.

“Realize that at the end of the day the person that needs to be happy is you. This is your moment…enjoy it!” – Valerie, The Bride -
Thank you so much to Carolyn for sending over these pictures, and all the best in love and lessons to the new couple. Be sure to see part 1 of Valerie and Kenneth’s wedding over at delightfully engaged.
