Korean Fusion in Iceland

Today’s real wedding is nothing short of picturesque with a haunting elegance that’s intimate and relaxing.  Bragi Josefsson offers timeless sophistication and editorial excellence in his approach to photography.  We are fortunate enough today to witness the magic of a Michigan couple’s fusion wedding amidst the ethereal mists of Iceland.

Setting: Krysuvik, Iceland

Heroine/Hero: Korean American bride – Echo & her American beau – Rich

Photography: Bragi Josefsson Photography

SCENE #1: THE STAGE IS SET…

Echo and Rich decided to say their vows in front of an intimate gathering of family and friends in Iceland.  But not just any part, the stage was set perfectly by nature’s design, complete with sulphur hot springs, cascading mountains, a beautiful lake and the misty backdrop of the Krýsuvík peninsula.

Like a modern excerpt from a Jane Austen novel, the couple unfolds each and every wedding detail to the tune of nostalgic drizzles, rustic style and the aura of a lone chapel lost in a daydream.  The daydream to which I’m referring is in Bjarnarhöfn, a small fishing village whose lone chapel hosts relics that date back to 1286AD.  Can you believe it?

SCENE #2: HANBOKS, FOG & CHAPELS, OH MY

I just LOVE the idea of fusing historic artifacts with ethnic style.  I sometimes wonder whether the builders of this chapel back in the 1800s, envisioned it to be the backdrop to a lovely woman in her pink Korean hanbok.

I could go on and on about the location shots for Echo and Rich’s portraits but it’s that age old saying that sometimes: “You just had to be there.”

SCENE #3: THE FIREPLACE RECEPTION

My heartfelt gratitude to Bragi for sharing these photos with us, proving unmistakably that rustic style meets fusion elegance like music to the ears.

This is really beautiful, I was in Iceland years ago and the landscape is so inspiring. This couple is uber chic and I love what she is wearing.
