IT’S JUNE….My favorite month! Yes, it’s my birth month, but it’s also the busiest wedding month of the season. We’re kicking it off to a truly spicy start, because I’m just on the edge of my seat with excitement about today’s feature.
From the moment I laid eyes on Brooke and Paul’s ultra charming wedding peppered with chic details, authentic style and genuine laughter…I knew I had to feature it on WEDDING NOUVEAU. Consider this awesome little fact: Today’s real wedding inspiration showcases a Vendor J’Adore triple threat in the collaboration of Jen K of Jen K Floral Designs, Janel Conlan of Focus Photography Inc and the delightful Candice Malone Bradley of De-Lovely Events. It’s like a dream team of wedding playoffs (from Southern California) and the stars of the show embody youth, contemporary style, and a fresh eco-conscious perspective that’s equal parts sexy, adorable and timeless. Here’s their peridot tale:
Setting: Laguna Beach, CA
Heroine & Hero: Caucasian American Bride – Brooke and her Native American/Latino Beau – Paul
Photography: Focus Photography Inc
Scene #1: THE RING THAT INSPIRED IT ALL…
Often times color inspiration is referenced based on the energy it evokes. Colors cast a spell upon unsuspecting guests like a splash of spritzer on a mid summer afternoon. However, beyond the color itself is a history, an emotional connection that makes each and every style choice much more personal. Paul proposed to Brooke with a conflict-free peridot stone, which played a significant part in her overall wedding vision.
Peridot is the official color of the August Birthstone, a month that holds a lot of significance for this wedding.
“The Peridot was our most significant color choice as it relates to the stone of my engagement ring.” Brooke said about her signature colors, “It was an important part of our love story as we met in August, Paul’s birthday is in August, and our wedding took place in August. More importantly, it is specific to Paul’s culture as it’s mined in Arizona where his family is indigenous (i.e. Native Americans). Moreover, we are both eco-conscious and did not want to purchase any potential ‘blood diamonds’.”

Scene #2: ANTICIPATION

It was very important to the couple to honor the uniqueness of each of their bridal party members. To ensure happiness and confidence, Brooke and Paul allowed them to chose their own styles. For the bridesmaids, the only unifying theme was the light olive color. Hair, make-up, shoes and dress style were left to each maid.

It only gets better. You don’t want to miss all the decor details from their ceremony and reception. Stay tuned for part 2, coming up later today.
