Thanks again to Holly Wilmeth for sharing today’s real wedding inspiration. Nicole and Koorosh’s traditional Persian wedding continues onto the colonial streets of San Miguel de Allende and into the warm twilight.
Scene #3: THE WEDDING MARCH
Music is a crucial part of your wedding style. It often sets the tone or mood for your guests, as well as the geographic region. But what happens when you hire a flamenco guitarist to learn an age old Persian wedding song? Magic. By fusing music styles, you not only celebrate the local flavor of your destination, you also maintain a strong sense of self. Other examples would be playing west african tunes on bagpipes, or hip hop with the violin, a fusion music idea featured here.
Nicole and Koorosh knew it was important to maintain certain elements of traditional wedding customs on their special day in Mexico, such as the Sofreh-Aghd and playing Shah-daamad, an old Persian wedding song.
Scene #4: TWILIGHT RECEPTION
Hanging tea lights, warm lighting and colorful centerpieces: The condiments of a delicious reception. Here’s a Design tip: Hanging tea lights at varying lengths is an easy way to play with illusion, and depth in a limited space.

“There are just some things that you have to let go of and the sooner you realize that, the more you’ll enjoy the experience.”

Congrats N & K on your wedding, and thank you so much for dishing it out. I look forward to featuring more of Holly Wilmeth & Penzi, as they are definite no brainers for the WN Vendor J’Adore list.
