{Real Wedding} Cambodian Fusion Reception – Part III

If you recall, a few weeks back we featured  Yean and Kyle’s absolutely gorgeous wedding on the beach in Mexico.  I couldn’t get enough of the vibrant fuchsia gowns, white sandy beach, and sun kissed smiles of every single guest.  Flash forward a few weeks, and I received a pleasant surprise in my inbox.  Yean, the bride, emailed me with a second Christmas: Photos from their second reception back home in  Ontario which you’ve got to see.  The wedding reception continues…

Setting: Copetown, Ontario

Heroine & Hero: Cambodian/Thai Bride – Yean and her Canadian Beau – Kyle

Yean’s luscious gold Cambodian (or “Khmer“) wedding dress was the perfect compliment to her bridesmaid’s fuchsia statements, also a popular look for the bride.  Often times, the bride is likely to adorn herself in oodles of shimmery embellishments and jewelry.  As you can see, Yean opted to go with less jewelry and more glow…which she succeeded at 100%.    She looked absolutely radiant in her one-shoulder gown.  She did however keep the “sbaay”, the lace overlay/ silk sash that was draped over her shoulder.

Here some pictures of the different color variations of the Traditional dress.

By choosing a venue that handled the bulk of the wedding receptions provisions such as buffet setup, customized wine bottles, linen and furnishing, the couple was able to focus on polishing the intimate details such as floral arrangement and mini desserts.

If you recall, the groom’s grand parents  couldn’t attend the wedding in Mexico…so what’s a couple to do?  Bring the party to the grand parents, of course!

Thank you so much to Yean for sending over these inspiring photos.

Yean, the pleasure is all mine…without weddings like yours, Wedding Nouveau would not exist.
