If you’re just joining us, then scroll down and introduce yourself to Part I of Debbie and Ayaz’s modern fusion wedding in British Columbia. You’ll notice that just because their fresh color palette of purple, green and yellow set the tone for the western ceremony, they flirted with bold colors in the second portion of the event, photographed by Pelaez Photography.
Scene 3: DIASPORA & DESIGN
After the western portion of their wedding, Debbie and Ayaz orchestrated an intimate traditional Chinese tea ceremony in celebration of the bride’s heritage. The juxtaposition of her luscious red cheongsam or “QiPao” with her henna-clad hands and feet, makes me giddy with excitement.

After the tea ceremony, the reception opened with a symbolic blessing ceremony in line with Ayaz’a Ismaili heritage. Ayaz’s family greeted the newlyweds with a few traditional customs, wishing the newlyweds prosperity, wealth, health and good fortune. Hope you’ve been keeping count, we’re at fab-couture look #4.
Scene 3: THE PERFECT FIT
And for the final bridal look: a little bit “something old,” a little bit “something beautiful.” Provided by Ayaz’s mother, Debbie’s final mod look was a 41-year old dress, in mint condition, that required no alterations. And what’s great, it goes perfectly with their established fresh color palette.

You couldn’t tell from how well things turned out, that the couple not only planned their wedding long distance (from Edmonton, AB), but experienced several set backs in vendor relationships. The moral of the story: Things will always go wrong, it’s how you react that matters.
I am delighted to know the lovely husband and wife team over at Pelaez Photography. With images like these, you can be sure that your wedding will be forever captured in time. Congrats to D & A on your stunning wedding, you’ve offered lots of inspiration today.

This is by far, one of the most gorgeous weddings I’ve ever seen. And the bride looks absolutely pretty.
