I told you today’s real fusion wedding would be worth the sleepless night, and I meant it. It just keeps getting better and better, the variety and diverse selection of fusion wedding styles out there. Everyday, I get more and more confirmation that the celebration of multi-ethnic weddings isn’t just a special of the month, but an integral part of our lives. I can’t thank you enough for your submissions.
Today, my sincere gratitude goes out to Rico and Gracci Pelaez of Pelaez Photography. Their unique art of photojournalism involves a delicate balance of witnessing each moment as unobtrusively and as honestly as possible. It’s almost like they hold the secrets to your first love letter, culminating in the words: “I Do.”
Setting: Richmond, BC, Canada.
Heroine & Hero: Chinese Bride – Debbie and her Ismaili, Muslim Beau – Ayaz.
Colors: Yellow, Purple and Green.
Scene #1: BEAUTY IS IN THE DETAILS

Scene #2: ROMANCE IN A BOATHOUSE
Debbie and Ayaz chose the John M. S. Lecky UBC Boathouse in Richmond, BC Canada, now the location of some of the indoor winter olympic events. Now here’s an example of taking a elegant space and enhancing it with a splash of modern color.

The boathouse is a captivating open space, complete with high ceilings and majestic windows. Instead of trying to compete with the open palette (a temptation many often fall into by overdosing in decor) they chose simple, modern lime green chrysanthemums and crystals as accents for the white chairs. Beautiful!
Okay, If you caught the teaser yesterday, then you know that the gown from Jai Bridals is just one of Debbie’s stunning looks. There are three more gowns and contrasting ceremonies representing both sides. It’s vintage, it’s cultural, it’s Modern Chic.
You don’t want to miss the second part later on today.
