I’d like to extend my gratitude to the ladies of Belathee Photography for sending me these memories of New York. Annabel and Dorethee are the lens-wielding divas behind the magic of Belathee photography, a boutique studio based out of New York city. It’s thanks to them that you’ll get to witness the romantic Persian wedding of Alaleh and Patrick, set in the big apple.
Setting: Brooklyn & Midtown, NYC
Heroine & Hero: Alaleh and Pat. She’s Persian. He’s from Seattle.
Scene #1: BREAKIN’ IT DOWN IN BROOKLYN.
The couple switched things up a little bit. Although their romantic ceremony was set for the evening in the city, they decided to take their wedding portraits during the day in Brooklyn.
Scene #2: THE CEREMONY
I’m always amazed by how detailed and elaborate the Sofreh Aghd can be. It is the table cloth or spread used for the wedding ceremony on which different sweets and spices are placed. For a recap on what these elements represent, visit here.
The couple was able to fuse traditional Persian customs with an elegant and modern decor, using whites and brown.
Scene #3: THE RECEPTION
(Above: All images by Belathee Photography; Ceremony at Metropolitan Hotel, Portraits at Stage 6 at Steiner Studios; Event Coordinator – Eric Hoffman, Abigail Kirsch, Christine Viola, EAP Inc.; Bride’s hair by Stacy Pitt of Styles On B; Bride’s Makeup by Laura Nadeau; Musicians/DJ: AA Entrmnt; Flowers by Atlas Floral Decorators; Videographer by Love in Progress)
Thank you so much Annabel and Dorothee for the photos.
Dream in Color, Dream in Culture.
