Wedding Inspiration Board | Dream in Color and Culture – Red

by Fri B. on December 28, 2009 · 2 comments

It’s back!  Our continuation of the DCDC series (Dream in Color, Dream in Culture).  As a reminder of how it works, a modern dream palette sets the stage for a new color, followed by a spread of bridal couture from different  cultures that could be incorporated into that palette.  After all, a lot of fusion weddings include a modern ceremony, as well as a traditional celebration.  What better way to bridge the two, than by a stunning gown?

A while back, I posted a palette inspired by Teal and Red, as part of the Dream in Color series for shades of blue.  Although the follow up bridal couture spread focused on blue, I thought it’d be fun to explore the other half of the palette…

…Today’s Color and Meaning: The color of luck, prosperity and happiness in Chinese tradition.  The color of love, fire and seduction in western culture and even purity…Yes, Purity (in Indian tradition).

Inspiration: Red

Teal and Red thrive from a modern palette…

….to a traditional palette.

In-credible! {as in the speechless kind}

My very favorite is the romantic and watery teal with the red. Such a passionate and powerful combination…
