Happy Fri-Style Friday!
The last of our series of eerie-wonderland infused inspiration boards goes to Greece…or rather, Greek Mythology: The story of the River Styx (River of the Dead), the God of the Dead & Greek king of the Underworld – Hades. For an extensive history behind this mythology, involving Celestial disputes, Goddesses and epic plots, visit here.
As mentioned earlier, when using global and cultural inspiration, your palette instantly widens. No longer do you have to feel restricted to Black, Orange, pumpkins and yes…candy corn.
Today’s inspiration is from the eyes of Persephone, the goddess of the Underworld. It incorporates her seductive aura, indulgence in pomegranates (the fruit of the underworld) and her tempting story.
Inspiration: Greek Mythology – Goddess of the Underworld

Challenge: How do you create a Grecian Underworld-Inspired Wedding that’s romantic?
How you can do it: 1) Pick a few elements of Hades Mythology that you like and go off that, such as the Styx River or Goddess Fashion. 2) Remember that because these were gods, your setting still has to maintain a sense of haute style 3) To evoke the underworld feeling, find a venue with high ceilings that can be easily lit to imply water, celestial life and/or contrast to the reception space. 4) Find contrasting details from the flowing fabrics such as skulls, stone, pillars, etc. 5) Wine is always a good libation to have, or signature cocktails that fit the mood and color. 6) Smokey eyes. 7) Pomegranates are not only a vibrant inspirational fruit and color, it, they were also the fruit of the underworld. Have fun with that.
If you have more suggestions, please let me know:-)
