Happy Wednesday!
You can’t have a Halloween Inspired Week without voodoo. And I have to be honest, reading up on the history of Voodoo, had me a little spooked…which is the opposite of what a wedding should evoke. So instead of going the “bloody goat” route, I think it’s safe to say that we’ll have to keep things implied and VERY SUBTLE…otherwise, you might have some vengeful guests.
Inspiration: Swamp Voodoo

Challenge: How do you create a Voodoo-Inspired wedding that’s enchanting?
How you can do it: 1) Keep all actual voodoo dolls out:-) I know it’s tempting for entertainment, but resist the urge. 2) Outdoor, Rustic Barns, Lodges and Sheds would make ideal venues 3) To evoke the Bayou swamp spirit, stick to earth/water tones. 4) A live jazz band or Speak easy set up would work perfectly. 5) Go for Hanging tea lights, instead of ornate centerpieces. 6) Sandals, paired with a flowing gown would go well in this rustic environment. 7) Your groom can have a more casual look. 8) Subtle incorporation of skulls are acceptable, such as in necklaces, background decor. 9) Let the candlelit environment work for you. 10) Instead of literally recreating a voodoo temple, evoke more charming elements that speak to the idea of seduction, potions, irresistability and vices: such as chocolate, music, perfume, flowers, Sexy bridal gown, wine, etc.
