…That was the tag line for today’s summer outdoor wedding: Eat, Drink and Be Married.

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, the style more chic, and the photography more crisp.  Andrew Carr, the lead photographer and owner of Kawartha Photography, based out of Peterborough, Ontario made today’s feature possible with his stunning portrayal of  high fashion, a luscious estate, picturesque butterflies and a loving couple named Samantha and Jeff.

Setting: A sunny side Toronto estate.

Heroine & Hero: Style savvy West-Indian Canadian bride – Samantha and her Canadian groom – Jeff.

Sometimes inspiration comes in all shapes, sizes and pumps.  At least, that was the story for Samantha in regards to her encounter with a pair of gorgeous Nude Decolstrass 85 shoes by Christian Louboutin.  In fact, that was the first thing she purchased after getting engaged.  My kinda bride…one with a purpose, conviction and unapologetic pleasures.  Ultimately, she was able to balance a natural hair-do and subtle glow with a large bouquet of peonies and a perfectly fitted couture look from the 50s.

SCENE 2: Indoor Charm meets Outdoor Ceremony

Great story behind the cuff links below.  Jeff and his groomsmen shared many fond memories over a glass of Labatt 50 (that’s beer, for all you wine lovers).  He decided to incorporate some of the memories in appreciation of their friendship by having custom made 50 cufflinks as part of his wedding attire. Love it!

SCENE 3: Be Married?…Check!

When asked how style and heritage were reflected in her wedding, Samantha’s response was as clear as her summer vision for the wedding.  “It was important to both of our families and to us not to have too secular of a ceremony, and to have readings that celebrate the meaning of marriage and why we were all there.” Says Samantha, “Both fathers gave touching
toasts/speeches that reflected on our backgrounds and families coming together, and the future.”

Simply put, they did what they felt was honest for them…operative word: Honest!

SCENE 4: Eat, Drink?…Check!

My favorite part of the day.  After all the tears have been dabbed, the vows exchanged and the anxiety of walking down the aisle overcome…it’s off to make merry. Although the couple works in finance by day, the brides’ nighttime superhero gig in culinary school was reflected in their expression of food, desserts and decor at the reception.

You may recognize the wedding cake.  I know I did, and I got very excited when Samantha confirmed that she too was inspired by a previous Martha Stewart Weddings’ Cover.  What we don’t get to see from the photos unfortunately, is the red velvet interior, beyond the cream cheese frosting.  Another example of how the details of colorful inspiration, when properly executed, can make for memorable affair.
