A Creole Holiday

Happy Fri-Style Friday!

I’m inspired today, or rather nostalgic about my early teenage years spent in cajun country – New Orleans.  I remember seeing weddings in the french quarter, over dosing on powdered sugar beignets and having absolutely no clue that I was living in  one of the most dynamic cities in the world…until long after I left.

Creole culture is a word commonly used today, but often taken for granted.  Most people think of New Orleans, but really, it extends to many parts of the world.  Heavily influenced by Portuguese, French, Spanish and West African culture, I thought it’d be fun to incorporate this gumbo of inspiration into a Wedding Dream Palette.

The holidays often bring friends and family from far and wide together, so what better overlay for our Creole Dream Palette:

I love that I learned something – I always think of Creole as New Orleans. Your collage is so warm and lovely – no doubt as a result from wonderful memories.
