Oooh la la! it’s Fri-Style Friday, and do I have a real fusion wedding inspiration for you!
Now here’s a spicy, beautiful affair that totally redefines the word “GREEN.” California Bay Area couple – Meg and Rahul, were able to orchestrate a funky, yet classy wedding event that featured vibrant marigold garlands, a respectful nod to personality & tradition, fuschia-infused linen and an unapologetic karaoke Party. It’s evident that for this hip couple, being green isn’t a trend, it’s a lifestyle that’s worth celebrating.
With such a dynamic mosaic of ideas, it would take the attentive and detailed eye of Jerry Yoon at Jerry Yoon Photography, to capture all the festivities in it’s true form. Feast your eyes on these:
PRE-CEREMONY:

CEREMONY:
The entire guest party arrived in low-carbon-footprint-style thanks to biodiesel buses, provided by Bauer’s Transportation. Their nature-infused ceremony seemed perfect for this outdoor couple. “We wanted it to flow back and forth between outdoors and indoors.” Said Meg, “We wanted to incorporate multiple elements of our backgrounds here and there rather than center the entire wedding around one culture or influence.” In celebration of Rahul’s Indian heritage, they followed a tradition of placing marigold garlands around each others neck as a sign of respect, life and love.

RECEPTION:
And this is where I had the most difficult time – trying to pick which images to show you. Photographer, Jerry Yoon did an amazing job of capturing so many candid moments…a frustration for me who has to pick a select few. For more inspiring shots, you have to check out his blog. According to Meg, karaoke was a “No Brainer” thanks to their shared love for live ballads, belting and channeled rockstar-ness on stage.

CLOSING:
I think it’s only fitting to close with an excerpt from Meg and Rahul’s ceremony program, as it summarizes their day best: “The Good we can do, the love we can express, the embrace or intimacy we intend, needs to be expressed to our beloved in the present moment.”
